Hannah Murray, star of TV’s Skins, is joining the cast of the West End transfer of Polly Stenham’s That Face. The piece, which was produced at the Royal Court Theatre last year, features the previously announced Lindsay Duncan, Matt Smith, Catherine Steadman and Julian Wadham reprising their roles at the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre. The production, directed by Jeremy Herrin, will begin previews on 1 May and open on 9 May.
Murray is best known for her role as Cassie on Channel 4’s comedy drama Skins and is making her professional stage debut playing Mia in That Face. On film she can be seen in Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges.
That Face is a portrayal of an affluent family in freefall. Mia (Murray) is at boarding school. She has access to drugs. They are Martha’s (Duncan). Henry (Smith) has dropped out of school. He has access to alcohol. From Martha. Martha controls their lives. Martha is their mother. That Face is a powerful and darkly comic exploration of children who become parents to their parents.
That Face will play a limited season in the West End to 5 July.
